        Help, Information, and Instructions:

        1. Demo Video
        2. Select a player type and then click the "Confirm player type template" button. After this more options will appear on the screen. Each player type has its own starting attributes, height and weight ranges, and their own 5 main abilities you can choose from.
        3. You can change the default height for your player (this may effect certain attributes). REMEMBER TO CLICK THE "Confirm Height" BUTTON OR ELSE ANY CHANGES WILL NOT BE APPLIED.
          • Lowering the height can increase Speed, Agility, and Acceleration while decreasing Balance, Body Checking, Durability, and Fighting Skill. Conversly, increasing height may have the opposite effects.
          • Small adjustments to height might not necessarily result in noticeable changes to any attributes, but such variations are possible.
          • (Note: It is recommended to try different heights and see what is best for your player before applying any boosts or abilities. You can change the height later but it will reset any abilities and boosts you may have selected)
        4. You can also change the default weight for your player (this may effect certain attributes). REMEMBER TO CLICK THE "Confirm Weight" BUTTON OR ELSE ANY CHANGES WILL NOT BE APPLIED.
          • Lowering the weight can increase Speed, Agility, Acceleration, and Endurance while decreasing Balance, Body Checking, Durability, Fighting Skill, and Strength. Conversly, increasing weight may have the opposite effects.
          • For this, the weight value will automatically not allow for values below the build minimum or maximum value.
          • For example: Sniper can only be 160lbs to 205lbs, trying to go lower or higher than this will just do nothing and stay at the maximum/minimum value.
        5. Make sure you select what position your player would play before completing the build (the default is "Centre").
          • This is will matter later when doing the real NHL player comparisons. Selecting "Centre" or "Winger" will give your player a forward player type and compare it to only forwards. Selecting "Defenseman" will give your player a defenseman player type and compare it to only defenseman.
        6. Modify the attributes of your player which will be a big part of defining your player. Clicking the + button will increase the attribute by one and use attribute points for that attribute section. Clicking the - button will decrease the attribute by one and give you back some attribute points to that attribute section. You can increase or decrease attributes at most +5 or -5 for each.
          • When increasing attributes, the amount of points spent depends on which attribute is being increased (some cost more than others), and also it depends on which increase it is. Attributes increases often cost more when they are the 4th (+4) or 5th (+5) increase, for instance.
          • Decreasing attributes works the same way but instead of taking away points, it gives attribute points back. This way you are able to make sacrifices to certain attributes in order to afford upgrading other areas.
          • In order to complete the build, you must not have a negative number of points available in any attribute section. You can see this above each attribute column.
        7. You must select a specific ability for each ability slot by clicking on the ability buttons and ability category buttons, and then clicking on which ability you want. The main gold ability is specific to your player type template chosen, and it is most important.
          • In order to complete the build, you must have 3 abilities selected and they must be valid (if they are invalid they will be red).
        8. You may select 2 unique boosts by clicking the boost and boost category buttons, and then clicking on the boost you want. The boosts increase certain attributes and have certain attribute requirements in order to use them, that are shown when you hover over them.
          • The attribute boosts do not count towards the +5 attribute upgrade cap since this is seperate. For example: if you have increased Speed by +5 by upgrading it, and then use a +2 speed boost, this is valid.
          • You cannot have 2 boosts that are the same or 2 boosts that both upgrade the exact same attributes. You will not be able to try this.
          • In order to complete the build, you must not have any invalid boosts selected (if they are invalid they will be in red).
        9. Finally, click the "Complete Build" button to see the details of player you made, and which real NHL players are most similar and least similar to your player. You may click on each player's name to see more information about them.
        10. If at any time you would like to reset everything and start over from the beginning, click the "Reset" button.
        11. This website is optimal on a computer/laptop, due to screen size and cursor hover reveal effects which do not work properly on touch devices.
        12. The starting attributes, heights, weights, abilities, and boosts follow the same restrictions as EA Sports NHL player building, so you would be able to make the same exact build here to see what real NHL players are similar to your player.
